Hello, Designers!
IRDC 2009 isn’t until the end of September, but we’ve got the program pretty well sketched out already. In fact, now that I’ve filled in an Excel spreadsheet (all color-coded and neatly formatted) with the scheduled daily itineraries, IRDC 2009 officially feels real.
Although the economy is weighing on everything like an 800-ton brick, I couldn’t bring myself to fill our program with gloom-and-doom prognostication and hand-wringing. Not that we’re sticking our heads in the sand; actually, our goal is to give you a career stimulus package (see what I did there?) through provocative, idea-filled sessions on international markets, domestic success stories and merchandising concepts … oh, and lots of networking. The combination of our educational sessions and plenty of fun face time is what makes IRDC unlike any other event for retail designers.
Seriously, you’re going to love it. If you have any questions for me, or suggestions for the conference, or recommendations for Dallas, please post them here. I’ll be checking in daily and posting weekly. --Kristin
