We’ll spend the second afternoon of the conference on an inspirational and educational trek to two of greater Seattle’s hottest retail developments—and some of its most celebrated architectural gems. Choose from three tours:

Bellevue Collection Mixed-Use Development  Travel by bus to the Seattle suburb of Bellevue, where a 60-year-old mall has morphed into a decidedly urban, upscale conglomerate of hotels, restaurants, offices, condominiums and retail—250 stores and counting.

University Village Shopping Center  It’s a short bus ride to another successful redevelopment with an entirely different feel—a park-like setting with an abundance of gathering spaces, sculpture, water features and customer amenities, not to mention an A-list of 100+ upscale chains and impressive independents.

Downtown Seattle Architectural Walking Tour  Architects and designers from Seattle-based firm NBBJ will lead this 1.5-mile tour of internationally recognized landmarks such as Rem Koolhaas/OMA’s 11-story oblique glass and steel Seattle Central Library, as well as local retail and architectural favorites.
